Cerro Negro Volcano
Cerro Negro Volcano (25 km. northeast of León) – this young, active volcano located just outside of the regional town of Léon, attracts backpacker-type tourists (in particular). Such individuals take sand (and snow) boards and slide down the side of the volcano (since the surface is covered in volcanic sand).
